Modernisation of the Cal Llacuna farm with the Porfeed Prosystem system.

Cal Llacuna in Òdena (Barcelona), near Igualada, is a traditional Catalan farmhouse that has adapted to the passing of time. Thanks to the involvement of the new generations and their commitment to technology in the rural world, they are a precision farm with a promising future. With the modernisation carried out, they have consolidated their position as a benchmark family livestock company producing high quality products.

The pig farm has a 60 x 17 m hall with three 20 x 17 m rooms. Each room has been distributed and divided with Porpanel to configure 20 pens in each one. This resulted in spacious pens measuring 2.8×4.4 m, in which they also installed toys to ensure greater welfare for your pigs. Outside the house there are 3 silos that allow 3 different types of feed to be combined to achieve a specific mixture adapted to the nutritional needs of each stage of growth.

Porinox has installed the multiphase power supply on the farm, providing all the equipment to give different feed diets to different groups of animals according to the needs and growth circumstances of the pigs.

The control and management of the feeding, duly programmed, is carried out automatically according to the nutritional needs of each group of animals (Porfeed Prosystem multiphase feeding system).

In this project, the multiphase system has been installed in a room next to the hall, where the kitchen, weighing, control cabinet and pneumatic systems are located.

The installation consists of 18 solenoid valves per shed feeding 36 hoppers (one solenoid valve for two hoppers). This simplifies the installation and allows us to feed the barns independently according to their needs.

This family-run pig farm in the Anoia region, Cal Llacuna, has modernised and invested in improving its facilities. Thanks to the generational change they have become a fantastic example of a sustainable, modern, efficient and high quality production farm.
