Disinfecting arch for vehicle access
The Instituto de Investigación y Tecnología Agroalimentarias (IRTA) has carried out the installation of the disinfection arc Porinox in one of its facilities located in the province of Girona.
This disinfection arch covers the entire entrance area, allowing the execution of a complete disinfection around the vehicles entering the facilities. Thus complying with the rigorous standards of Royal Decree 306/2020 in article 5, section 2.d., which establishes the obligation to have disinfection arches for vehicles entering pig farms.
Developed and thoroughly tested by biosecurity experts in the industry, the Porinox Disinfection Arch is a highly effective solution for disinfecting vehicles entering the farm, ensuring animal health and safety and complying with current regulations.
As a complementary measure, a solid concrete slab has been implemented, accompanied by an efficient drainage system designed to collect the excess water generated during the disinfection process.
The automatic activation of the system, based on the detection of passing vehicles through strategically placed photodetectors, ensures an immediate and accurate response.
The stability of the arch has been guaranteed by the use of steel cables as tensioners, providing a firm and secure hold. This installation not only complies with the demanding regulations, but also reflects IRTA's commitment to the highest standards of quality and safety in the agri-food sector.
In summary, the implementation of the Porinox Disinfection Arc not only strengthens biosecurity measures at IRTA's facilities, but also contributes significantly to animal welfare and sanitary integrity, highlighting our commitment to excellence in all agri-food operations.
